Awake in twilight,
Sleep eludes me.
Not a feeling of restlessness,
But a calm inside,
The sky is a cool blue,
The wind carries a pleasant chill
Standing in the balcony I wonder
I am not in turmoil,
Yet I stand awake, alone
This must be inner peace.
A deep breath is in place,
I don’t wish to close my eyes again.
The misty dawn is just a moment away,
I hear a murmur, a sleepy call saying Mom.
And now starts my happy chaos
I will work through the day
For my heart knows for sure
Peace is just a twilight away.
Hi,
You sound like a happy mother. Are you a mommy blogger? I liked your poem since it seemed like the flip side of insomnia– peace!
Maybe you can check out my blog. I offer blogging tips and I host 10 networking events each month.

I am a writer and a Mom to a seven year old. So I guess the little one just tiptoes into my writings. 🙂
